The Diputació de Barcelona (Provincial Council of Barcelona) aims to progressively transform its campuses in order to create spaces that are more resilient, sustainable, and open to the public. One of these spaces is the Mundet precinct, located in the neighborhood of Horta in Barcelona.

This campus covers an area of 34.72 hectares, situated at the edge of Collserola Park. Its buildings house facilities and services from various public institutions and administrations, surrounded by a natural environment with extensive forest areas, landscaped spaces, and various sports facilities.

Given the ample scientific evidence linking human health to the physical characteristics of the environment in which we live our lives, any policy or project that affects these conditions will have certain impacts on health. The transformation project of the Mundet campus will have an impact on the physical and social health of the citizens, as well as on aspects directly related to health (health determinants) such as air quality, biodiversity, physical activity, or social relationships within the area.

By incorporating a health perspective in the initial stages of the transformation project, it is possible to assess the health conditions of the environment, prioritize actions to be taken, and evaluate the impact of the proposals to ensure their alignment with the needs of the area.
